Square Perfect 3085 SP200 Professional Quality 16-Inch Studio In A Box Light Tent Cube for Quality Photography (review)
Hi all,
another week went by and I am here today to share with you my thoughts on one of the presents I got for Christmas this year. I have to say I was a lucky girl this year and all my presents were great. Especially because most of them were targeted towards my new obsession with my Instagram account and blog. However, I am not here to brag about all of them because even though they were all great, they are not part of this article.
As you can see from the title, I am here to talk about a picture box light studio. I saw this particular one first on Instagram and had to immediately check out, if I can find it on Amazon. And I was not disappointed at all! Not only it was there, but it was for a great and affordable price. For small Instagram accounts like mine where I do this more for fun than for "fame" this was a great thing to find. If you are interested to see more details about this product I will put the direct link for you here: http://www.amazon.com/Square-Perfect-3085-SP200-Professional/dp/B000PC4A0O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1419774825&sr=8-2&keywords=photo+box+light
The set comes in a skinny box (believe me, I was surprised how skinny it was) but the truth is that everything is just the right size because you really do not need huge lights or a ginormous box if you are taking pictures of small objects (in my case my nails, nail polish, make up, etc.). You get a light box, 2 lights, a tripod and 4 different background sheets. Everything is neatly packed once you pull it out from the box; it has special pockets where you can find the 2 lights and the tripod for your camera. And putting it together is as easy as 1,2,3. I did not have to read the directions or look at the pictures on how to put it together or set it up. Same goes to taking the system apart. The box is light and easy to move it from one place to another without having to worry that you are going to break the frame. The studio lights have their own tripods that can be pushed back inside the lamp giving you the option to travel with the kit without having to worry you will destroy them. Also, the pockets make sure you will not loose any parts that come with your light box.
I have set up my light box in our spare bedroom (excuse the background in this picture; wanted to show you how it looks when you put it together and I do not have a final place for the box yet). The white background (you are getting 4 different colors, for this picture I went with the white one) can be either placed underneath the box leaving you with a black background or you can fix it on the top of the box (the entire system is based on dry zippers). The background canvas is a little bit wrinkled but that is nothing that concerns me at all.
They also recommend not to use any other light in the room when taking your pictures. I have tried this already and have to say I was happy with the result of the pictures. If you would like to see how is the quality of my pictures, you can definitely find out soon on my Instagram account (username: nailsby_judinka123 http://instagram.com/nailsby_judinka123/ )where I will be posting more manicures and pictures utilizing the super duper new technology...lol.
All in all I have to say this is a great little kit for beginners and people who would like to take nice pictures but do not want to spend too much money on professional equipment. Both lights are strong and eliminate almost any shadows and glare you get when taking pictures under artificial light. This is also a great present for somebody who you know is posting pictures on Instagram or their blog to improve the quality of their posts. You really can't go wrong with this system.
Thank you for being here today and if I do not post anything until the end of the year, then I wish you a happy and prosperous year in 2015. Thank you for being here with me and I appreciate all your support.
