Chaotic Glitz Polish - haul, experience and nail polish swatch

Hi all,

I almost can't believe that August is almost over. Even though the time at work was really slow this month, the hours outside work flew by I don't even know how. As you could see I did not really post anything this month; and it is due to the fact I usually post on Saturdays (including writing articles) but these last few weekends we always had something going on.

But today I have something different for you. In September it will be one year I am active on Instagram. And even before my IG obsession I had quite a huge nail polish collection, but with posting daily it grew tremendously. And though I have probably most of the drugstore and a few higher end brands, I realized I do not have any indie polishes. For those of you who are new to the nail polish world, indie polishes are made individual small businesses and you can find most of them in the Etsy community. The very first brand I have tried was KB Shimmer and with that being said and branched out a bit.

As I was going through some of the indie sites on Instagram, I found out that one of the accounts I have been following is actually an indie seller. That's how I came to placing an order with Chaotic Glitz polish. Besides her own nail polishes, she also offers a wide variety of mani soaks and nail care. To see more what she has to offer, you can check out her website http://chaoticglitzpolish.storenvy.com/ and IG account (https://instagram.com/chaoticglitzpolish/).
My Chaotic Glitz Polish haul - Nail polish in Elevated and mani soaks (they smell amazing!!!)
I ended up ordering one of her crelly polishes in the color Elevated and two different mani soaks - Vanilla and Pomegranate (purple one in the picture) and Pineapple Shooting Stars (star shaped in the above picture). Her shipping is very reasonable as well and I received my order within 5 days after I placed it. Everything was nicely packaged and both the nail polish and mani soaks came with instructions and her business card.

Now onto the nail polish. I got Elevated; and this nail polish looks really more like purple in the swatch picture on her website. However, as you can see in my pictures, this is a bright pink nail polishes packed with tiny glitter pieces. Though I expected different color, I was not dissapointed with the color option I have received. You can check out the swatch under this link if you are interested: http://chaoticglitzpolish.storenvy.com/products/13283610-elevated

2 coats of Elevated without top coat
The nail polish itself is a bit tricky. As mentioned before, this is a crelly polish and it is jam packed with glitter so the application was not the easiest. I was getting thick layers on the brush and it took a bit manipulation to even it out on the nail. When I grab a thin layer, it did not apply on the nail at all, so it took few nails before I figured out an ideal application. It was almost opaque in one coat but because I applied it unevenly, I decided to do a second coat. It was also very hard for me to capture the tiny glitter pieces because the thick layer of polish was covering them completely.
2 coats of Elevated with a top coat. This polish is packed with glitter but it was quite hard to capture the beauty of this nail polish.
Never the less, after I applied a top coat over it, it looked so bright and pretty on the nails in real life. My camera was unable to capture the real beauty of the polish. I wore it for 3 or 4 days and even though I applied two thick coats, I had absolutely no chipping and hardly any nail wear at the time I took it off. And I am not sure if it was only my brain playing tricks on me or if it was real, but I felt like my nails were smelling like bubble gum :). When removing the nail polish, I just peeled it off (not recommended of course) but after using a nail polish remover and a cotton ball, I came to a decision to save some time and just do it that way. It has so much glitter in it that the best way to remove it, would be soaking a cotton ball in acetone and wraping your nails in an aluminium foil. That will definitely save you same time and frustration.

All in all I was very happy with my purchase. Her prices are reasonable (both for mani soaks and nail polishes), shipping is supper fast and her products seem to be of a great quality. Can't say much anything about the mani soaks at this point as I have not tried them but the nail polish, despite the tricky application, was beautiful and long lasting. I will be certainly ordering more from Chaotic Glitz Polish more in the future; though I am planning to go on a no buy for a little while (buying a new car with a bit higher monthly payments and a planned visit to see my family next year). Her website is in my bookmarked section and I am sure I will not be able to resist the temptation for very long and will get at least one or two more different style nail polishes from her. As far as the mani soaks go, I do not do those very often so I think I am stocked up for a while.

Let me know if you have ever ordered anything from Chaotic Glitz Polish or if you were thinking about it in the near future. I will be back soon with another quick chit chat review or article. Have a great weekend all and I talk to you soon.
