China Glaze - Desert Escape (short review and swatches)

Hi guys,

today I have quick review on the Desert Escape collection from China Glaze (#chinaglaze). I know I am a bit late on this post but I finally got to swatch all six nail polishes from the collection. This is a first swatch/review I am doing so let me know if you like it and if you would like to see more of these. I will try to describe the colors as accurately as I can...but I am not a pro ;)

Good news about these nail polishes is that every one of them can be considered a one-coater. Usually I do at least two coats but for this review I decided to show you how they look when you apply one coat.

The Heat Is On

The first nail polish I will be talking about is this absolutely stunning brick red nail polish The Heat Is On. This one is a jelly based polish but as you can see in the picture I was still able to get away with only one coat. You cannot see my nail line what is a good indicator that I did not need more layers.

I am usually not too big on red nail polishes but this one is a definite must have in my opinion.

Don't Desert Me

The next nail polish, Don't Desert Me, looks pink-ish in the picture but in real life it was a pretty purple color. Not sure why my camera could not capture the true color but this is all I could do. Again, in the picture you see one coat but this one would probably used another layer because you can see streaky lines. For the purpose of this swatch, I only did one coat.

This is not the most unique color but I do think it is still worth getting it. Also, wore all of these polishes for 2-3 days without any chipping; only minimum nail wear.

Don't Mesa With My Heart

Don't Mesa With My Heart is a stunning Barbie pink nail polish. I don't lean to wear too much pink polishes for every day manicures but this turned out to be great as a base for nail art and stamping.

Again, in the picture this is only one coat and no top coat. I was very impressed with how long these colors last without chipping because in most cases China Glaze polishes don't last on me very long but I still absolutely love them!!!

Rain Dance The Night Away

This blue is maybe not the most unique again but I really like it and it is one of the few ones where you can get away with only one layer of nail polish. And I had almost no staining after removing it (only a light tint that you could hardly see).
Rain Dance The Night Away
I like this color the most, maybe the What's She Dune? is a close runner up, but you should definitely pick this one up if you come across this collection.

What's She Dune?

What's She Dune? is the perfect neutral nail polish that is not boring yet it is still office appropriate. I was pleasantly surprised how nice this neutral brown color looks like and it also complimented my skin color. I have already used it in several manicures and they all looked amazing. You can check them out on my Instagram account nailsby_judinka123 (http://instagram.com/nailsby_judinka123/).
What's She Dune?
In the picture you see one coat of What's She Dune? and the polish itself looked nice with any chipping for several days.

Meet Me In The Mirage

Meet Me In The Mirage is the last nail polish from the collection. I would say this is the most unique one out the six that come in this collection; however, it does remind me of Orly's Rage. In the picture you see I only applied one coat but this is definitely a polish that would need at least two. It is due to having more like a metallic finish which leaves streaky lines.
Meet Me In The Mirage
I have seen pictures of this nail polish when bloggers and nail swatchers applied at least two coats and the second coat evens out the streaks.

If I wear a simple manicure I would definitely do two coats in each case but for the sake of this post I wanted to show you that all of these are pretty much one-coaters. In my opinion, this collection is a must have and none of the colors or formulas disappointed me. Even though these colors might not be unique and you can find similar nail polishes or maybe even dupes for most of these, I would still prefer getting these.

You can check out the entire collection at www.8ty8beauty.com (that's where I purchase all my China Glaze nail polishes from). Hope this short review and swatches were helpful and please let me know, if you purchased any of these and how did you like them. Talk to you all soon.
