smART Nails nail art vinyl stencils (review)

so today I have an exciting review for you. Recently I came across this brand, smART Nails, on Instagram and I usually tend to check out the website of these small "indie" retailers. As you all know I love nail art and besides stamping I love to use water decals because I am not a good free hand painter.

So I decided to go on their website, www.smart-nails.com, to see what do they exactly offer. At first I wasn't sure if I want to try these because of the type of nail art they were offering. However, the more I browsed the website and saw the different images, the more intrigued I became and decided to give it a try.

There are so many cool images to choose from!!!

I placed my order on a Saturday or Sunday and was lucky enough to get a 25% off for each stencil I ordered. These all go for $1.99 and have a flat $5  worldwide shipping. Thus, with the discount, I got the shipping technically for free. If I am right, in March they are offering free worldwide shipping so if you wanna take an advantage on it, this is your chance.

On the website, they also advise the shipping may take 10+ more business days. I received the first order approximately 8 days after I placed my order; pleasant surprise!!! Since I placed another order; however, the second package have not yet arrived. Even though the shipping is taking longer this time, I am still patient because the orders are shipped from Romania and currently I live in USA.

I picked up 10 different nail art stencils with my first order

On their website you can choose from 61 different images. Each sheet has 10 stencils (one for each of your nails); and according to a video I saw on their website, you can reuse them. These are already a great steal and really inexpensive; especially when you are just starting with nail art, so if you can really reuse them, you can't beat the price. With my first order I decided to choose 10 different designs.

They were inside 2 hard covers so that they do not get destroyed when shipped. I was impressed by the packaging and all of my stencils arrived in 100% great condition. They are able to fit 8 packages on one side of the paper cover; providing directions on how to use them and all the other designs available on the website.

Also, on the back, you have a short introduction about the company and their website. The website is user friendly and if I am not mistaken, I was able to use PayPal for my payment.

I do think the size of the images is just right...not too big for short nails yet large enough for long nails.

The size of each stencil is quite satisfying for both short and long nails. I have shorter nails in general and am able to fit each design on my nails without any problems. If you have longer nails and feel the size of the images is too small, you can always either reuse the same image on the same finger or use 2 of them on one nail. Most people use these kind of designs as an accent nail or on only a few nails instead of a full on manicure. This is of course a personal preference.

The application is so easy; just peek it off from the sheet and place it on the nail.

The application is absolutely easy and even a child could easily do it. The quality of these feel like a thin plastic with a sticky sticker like bottom. All you have to do is peel off the design you want to use and place it on your nail. As with any nail art, make sure your base nail polish is completely dry before you apply the stencils. Even if you place the image in the wrong spot, or you are not happy with the way it looks on your nail, it is easy to peel off the image and place it on the nail again. As you see in the picture, I got an air bubble underneath it, yet my image turned out nice and crisp.

The stencils are almost like stickers and you can mix and match them.

This took me a few seconds and I was ready to apply the desired nail polish. For this manicure I went with 2 different styles, a dragonfly and zig zag half manicure. Then I applied the nail polish. I had no problems with the nail polish getting underneath the images and when I removed the stencils, I got exactly the same image as on the stencils; no bald spots or uneven edges. My only issues was the nail polish itself that was getting a bit guppy (glitter polishes...lol)  and had issues with its application but even with that the final results were good.

Once you are happy with the placement, put nail polish over the desired design...and you are good to peel them off. No wait time is needed.

Look at that dragonfly!!! And this took less than 10 seconds to create. I am absolutely in love with these nail stencils and would recommend them to anybody; either if you are just a beginner or a pro, these are a must have in your stash.

The images are sharp and crisp. Did not experience any bleeding or uneven or bald spots.

This was such an easy manicure to create. All the lines are sharp and crisp and applying them was a dream. As the website advised, I decided to hold on to the ones I have already used to see if you can really reuse them. But even if they won't have the same result, they are so affordable that I have no problem purchasing them again.

I am in love with the way this manicure turned out. Great job Smart Nails :)
